You and Maggie broke up over six months ago, but what was the reason? Now that you think about it, you admit that it was all your fault. In all the six years that you were together since college, you could count the number of days you made time for her on one hand. You didn't have time watch her band play, you delayed the skydiving course you promised her, and never seriously considered when you were going to propose.
It all came to a head during an argument at the beginning of the year. You had finally managed to take a vacation to go abroad with Maggie, yet as you were ready for the trip, you found another story that was too big to miss. That night, you tried to explain to her how important this was, and how it could solve many of the environmental and safety issues that plague Skidroad. But the harder you tried, the angrier she got. In the end, she stormed out and went on the trip alone. After that, she never returned to your apartment.
Following the breakup, you were like a couple of stubborn children; neither of you reached out to the other. But now, perhaps being locked behind bars has made you realize just how much she means to you. You finally have the courage to call her and apologize.
