Panda．Old Lee

A middle-aged panda whose real name is Lee Zhong, and loves to adorn his speech with poetry and proverbs. He has been inside for 10 years, but seems to be content. Through his poems, he revealed that there is a hidden "place where he can be free" in the prison. He is a heavy drinker and claims that it is impossible for him to get drunk. Even in prison, he has ways of making sure he always has good booze.

According to Old Lee, he is originally from Bamboolia in the Far East, and he immigrated to this country with his parents when he was a child. His family owned a small tavern on Panda Street, and their neighbors would often go there to play cards. The mixture of boisterous fun and bad language fascinated the young panda, who would even play a few games at the table when his parents were not looking.

Time went on, his parents grew old, and the tavern was passed onto him. However, the lack of customers, his children's school fees, and harassment by local thugs put Old Lee under immense pressure. Just when he was struggling to make ends meet, one of the regular customers who used to play cards in the tavern paid him a visit. He said he knew a group of guys who run an underground casino, but that police had recently driven them out of their last venue, and they were looking for a new place new to set up. If Old Lee could give them a part of the tavern, he would be handsomely rewarded. It didn't take long for him to decide to take a gamble on it.

In order to hide from the police, Old Lee emptied out the basement and crammed seven or eight gaming tables inside. From then on, it became an underground casino that was open 24 hours a day and could accommodate over a dozen gamblers. Old Lee made money hand over fist, sending his children to the best schools and hiring the local thugs as bouncers.

But no one will be blessed with luck forever, a simple fact that the huge sums of fortune made Old Lee forget. On a night like any other, in stark contrast to the silent streets outside, the basement was a bustling casino filled with bright lights, shouts of joy, sighs of disappointment, and the clash of chips. One out-of-luck gambler finally lost his last chip that night, and with it the money he had borrowed from a loan shark just that morning. Filled with despair and desperation, he had a thought: "If I start a little fire and cause some chaos, I might be able to grab a few chips from the dealer's bag. Then when things settle down, I can use them to win back everything I lost, and more!"

He put his desperate thought into action. The fire, however, went out of control and swept through the basement. The terrified gamblers raced for the door, but it had been chained up as "extra insurance" against police raids.

In one night, the fire claimed more than a dozen lives. The tavern also burned to the ground. As the owner, Old Lee was held responsible. A lengthy prison sentence of 30 years would be the price he paid for his gamble.
