"The throne, however, sat empty. The king walked alone toward the ice cage."
"Since he could not save his mother, he chose to stay with her for all eternity."
Is this the end? The whole story's so full of tragedy.
I guess the author's trying to say that no matter how smart someone may be, he's only ever a pawn in the game of power.

Well, I hoped for a slightly happier ending, but also knew that a happy ending would ruin the story.
Just like how the prince hoped for a happy ending, but that hope ended up causing the destruction of his kingdom.
